Smoked a 46 today and it absolutely SUCKED. Today was one of those days when you realize you are smoking a hand made product. It tunneled, unraveled, and tasted like crap. These are among my favorites so I am counting on this just being a bad one that slipped through.

My last 3 cigars have been fantastic. First off, I started with a Cruzado Marelas (perfecto) that Mwiltse had suggested. I'd had the previous release of the Cruzados and wasn't impressed. He explained that the original release came with a wrapper Dion didn't intend and that I should give them another chance. Since I'm a big fan of Illusione, I gave it a go and was impressed! I followed that with a DPG Cuban Classic robusto just 'cuz I wasn't finished smokin'. It's a fairly pedestrian smoke, but didn't dissappoint. Most recently, I ventured down to Smokey Joe's for $2.00 AYCE tacos and a Mariners game. I broke out the big gun for the game and fired up an Illusione Dark Prince at the top of the 3rd inning. It lasted to the bottom of the 10th and burned perfectly throughout. I've smoked several of these, but it is rare as I usually don't have the time to commit to such a large cigar. The flavor was fantastic. I didn't need to relight it a single time, nor did it need a single touch-up. At $14/stick, it isn't exactly cheap, but considering it's 9 1/4 x 48, you get a lot of smokin' out of it. This weekend I'll be smoking a Cain Habano, an Illusione HL and hopefully I'll have time for another stick or three.
Who borrowed my lighter?

Smoking soem spareribs this afternoon. First of the season. While waiting, a Don Alejandro from 08 (never disappoints) and Surly Furious. Listened to the Yankees beat Texas! Now listening to some Classic Vinyl from Sirius. Great weather here in Minnesota. Will enjoy the ribs with my boys and then lighting up the fire pit. Nice day!

Best,
Joe

to reward myself for the past few months of work on my Hudson I took a boris along with me today cause I figured that if this damn thing passed its safety inspection then it will be back on the road and 100% legal again. It passed so I lit up a Tat Boris and took a very slow enjoyable ride home. WOO WOO

Smoking a Tat Black robusto. Pretty nice, but the brother who gifted it is the real star. On a trip to Dark Lord Day,Rich a local, gave both me and the other guy traveling with him the new Jaime Garcia Reserve and the Black on the way.

I smoked a gifted Boli CE I think from 2008. I did not like it as much as the circa 99-98.

Edited to add: Two of the MPLS crew and I smoked PFR44th maddies at our weekly herf and unanimously concluded that these PFR44ths were damn good smokes! :):thumbsu:

I was fortunate to be able to try a Tatuaje Cohete from a brother at my local b&m. Surprising amount of pop in this little guy.

Smoked a Nestor Miranda Dominico Robusto Grande. It's a very nice cigar Pepin made for Nestor with a Dominican wrapper from the folks at La Aurora. Worth a try in my book.

Had a surprisingly good cigar based off of previous experience with the company, a Viaje TNT. Definitely worth a try if you can get your hands on one. It had a note I've not previously experienced in a cigar, strange but smokiness like a peaty Scotch.

Had a LFD Premium line churchill. Mild cigars like this for me are way out of the norm but it was a very enjoyable diversion. Finishing up with a Carlos Torano Tribute 2008 churchill after golf and a steak. Pretty good night for me. Lucky to be an American, not to many working stiffs on this earth are so blessed. God Bless America!
