This is a close-up picture of the damage done to Dallas Seagraves's (ninja's) box of Romeo y Julietta Pyramides from 2000. Tenacious bastards, aren't they?

This heartbreaking picture is representative of the kind of damage that cigar beetles can do to cigars.
The picture is not mine; the person who took the picture at a retailer's shop in FL sent it to me. Still makes me queasy to look at it.

Imagine your surprise after you finally break the seal on an aging Romeo y Julieta cigar tube, only to find that cigar beetles have decimated the cigar, turning it into a picked-clean skeleton.
From UFreak, the victim of this unfortunate incident:
I picked up the sealed tube and felt the contents shifting around. I knew the RyJ shouldn't be moving in there, so I shook it and it felt like a salt shaker. Opened it up to find what you see. Still have the red plate and tube here at the house.

Cigar beetles apparently think snake tastes like chicken too... they had a field day with these Cuban Partagas Culebras.
