Viaje 50/50 Corona Gorda.
A very unique cigar. they take two different blends of tobacco in two different bunches and make one cigar.
Foot to middle one blend, middle to head one blend. A very hard cigar to make.
Nicaraguan Filler, Binder and Wrapper.
I really like this cigar.

Never even heard of this cigar. Just googled it. Didn't like it. Glad I tried it. Now I know. LOL
wondering if they do anything during the curing or fermentation of this cigar??
Strange as it didn't seem to be like two cigars to me. Just one big perfume bomb
Will embarrass myself more tomorrow
Ohhh, and foot, head, stomache...whatever

I had taken a few looks at this lancero and figured now is the time to break it out. About 7 x 38 in size. Had a nice light brown dusty-brown look to it. Nice “Charmin†kind of give to it also. Seemed well made…and it was. Smoked this inside with a Kirin Diablo Gingerale, whilst reading a book on French wine, and then later listening to some Rush Limbaugh....Bill Maher is off for a few months. What’s a guy to do??? Cut the gar and got down to work.
First 1/3 of the cigar. Well it drew like a dream right off the bat. Loads of pepper, and I mean loads!!!! No other real taste could get through for the first 5 minutes or so. Then a bit of muskyness came in on the finish, but the taste of the smoke was still dominated by pepper. Now it wasn’t bad, but just not very balanced.
Second 1/3 of the cigar. Well the pepper was still there, but a bit of bitter coffee came in. This flavor would probably be enjoyed by most, I am just not in that club. It was however, on the whole at this point a nice strong cigar. Toward about the halfway point though, that muskyness on the finish was becoming quite pronounced. Then boom!!!! It was gone. The pepper notes and straight-forward tobacco flavors were to much for the mushkyness. This cigar became VERY full flavored in a good way.
Last 1/3 of the cigar. Cigar had kicked into full gear. Was enjoying it quite a bit. The last 1.5 inches were a bit of work for me, as I usually partake in light to medium bodied (but full flavored mind you
1) Not Cuban.. I thought this was some kind of Tat lancero for the first 5 minutes. However, it developed quite a bit of depth that I have not seen in Tat Brown labes (I have only had young Tats mind you). No idea on the wrapper, but I would have to guess a mix of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos in the filler. As stated, I like ( I think I like
2). No frgn idea. Shoot me.
.
3) I would actually throw this in the mix to smoke every once in a while (hell I am a lancero whore) if this were $10 or under. If it is around $15 I would have one every few months as a change of pace. Something tells me this cigar may be asking a bit more than this though…..

I really love the entire line of Viaje. Platino, Oro, 50/50.
This is the first ever Lancero from Viaje. Medium bodied, floral with lots of spice. These are rolled fairly loose. So you must be a bit more careful.
I think Andre(the owner of Viaje) has done a fantastic job with his line of cigars.
These are bit more expensive, but a good cigar for a special occasion.

I have to admit right off the bat that it was impossible not to notice the nice little piggytail on the foot of the cigar. Good looking brownish-hint of red wrapper. Cut and lit the sucker.
I've never had a cigar with a pigtail on the foot. I've had plenty with the pigtail on the head of the cigar, which I cut it off before lighting...

cigar #7.
Been decent weather so had this out on the balcony at around 5 PM. Once again had it with a gingerale...love this stuff. The cigar looked and felt beautiful.
First 1/3. I know I have said this before on another cigar, but there was that fragrant perfumey taste again. However, this time it was a bit more mellowed out and qutie nice actually. Some spice and pepper came in nicely on the palate.
Second 1/3. Same flavors present, but a nice tobacco taste joined in. At this point I was thinking a decently aged Opus. I am hesitant to say this now as I am begining to think other cigar makers are trying, and succeeding, at compying that Opus flavor. This cigar, however, had a nice balance to it.
Last 1/3. Not much change til the last inch, then it become a bit strong for me. You boyz who like the " I couldn't stand for an hour after this smoke" kind of cigar, would have been in heaven.....and the ER shortly there after.
1) not Cuban.
2) guessing (again) an Opus...with a bit of age on it. Or as I have read here an at cf recently, the Opus blend has "calmed" in recent years.
3). Yes. I would throw this in for a change of pace smoke. Once every month or so. If it was at the $10 price point.
Off to have another Red Tat Angelos. One fine cigar indeed. Will be picking up a box from Towercigars.com, and the best tobacconist in the kindgon Mark

Now I didn't get any perfume out of this cigar. I would say it was a bit aromatic , but not perfumey or flavored.
This cigar come from a smaller but rapidly growing factory.
#7 Tempus by Alec Bradley Inceptio(corona gorda) Medium bodied at best.
These are made in the same as Illusione.

After smoking about a dozen or so of these, I have to say...I'm just not a huge fan. Beautiful wrapper and superb construction.
Doesn't do it for me.
