Poll: Trust in Big Government Near Historic Low

When was it lower than it is now?
  • Vietnam?
  • Nixon?
  • Carter?

Suggestions of violence keep creeping into reports. I wonder if the National Guard will put a few more notches in its collective rifle stock if/when the protesters get rowdy? Could this be the tipping point? I never recall so much mistrust of government across such a broad demographic.

The inane follow-up posts aside, this is absolutely news. Of course trust in big government is always low. That's not the point. The newsworthy point is that a year and a half after the messiah was chosen to lead the big government, how in the world could the level of trust have gone down? This is not possible. SURELY people trust an Obama-led government more than the one under Dubyah.

Don't they?

That was my thought, Pig...1776. ...or if you live in the south, 1861.

...but Atrich, I do not know if you can make this a political thing. IMO, the masses may have just awakened to the train wreck this country has become. To fairly lay the blame, you've got to go all the way back to the Johnson administration. After that, the US started stepping in one pile of crap after another as things changed, changed, changed.

It would be interesting to know just how much of this nation's demise could be attributed to Khrushchev's plan to bury us; destroy America from within.

...and yes, I'm fairly certain it is almost time to put a fork in the USA. The nation will not be able to bear the burden of new government spending while India and China become the dominant economies of the world.

That was my second guess.

Of course it is not political. The American people are starting to realize that pretty much all of their elected officials are dishonest scumbags if not out-and-out crooks. Doesn't make ANY difference when it comes to honesty. integrity, and putting the interests of the American people ahead of themselves whether you are talking Republicans or Democrats. They are all untrustworthy. Show one Democratic scumbag . . . I'll show you another Republican. Every Massa has his Foley; every Spitzer has his Sanford, every Murtha has his Young, and every Jefferson has his Cunningham. Then you have out-and-out traitors like Rep. Raul Grijalva who works for Mexicans rather than Americans, and Joe Lieberman who obviously gives allegiance to Israel over the USA.

How could anyone with even a lick of sense trust any of these dirtbags?
