Lifting the ban on offshore drilling is a good thing in a do it or die sort of way. But as Ross Perot always said (and was mocked for saying it) "the devil's in the details." Hence I am afraid to read the details. It would be nice to like at least one thing this Obama guy wants to do.

"Opening up areas off the Virginia coast to offshore production is a positive step, but keeping the Pacific Coast and Alaska, as well as the most promising resources off the Gulf of Mexico, under lock and key makes no sense at a time when gasoline prices are rising and Americans are asking ‘Where are the jobs?’" Boehner

I kayak fish off the California Coast. And the amount of oil that seeps up from underneath the ocean floor is disgusting.
The oil ends up on my kayak, then on top of my truck when I drive home. Pathetic. :thumbsd:

The total expected take from the Virginia reserve will be enough to power America for 6 days.

That's right, 6 days. But, I suppose for people supporting that sort of thing, it's a start.
