I'm in Malaysia the moment, and I doubt I'll have time to look into it until I return (ditto with the Smilies issue). Sorry guys, all I have at my wife's parent's house is dial up Internet, and it's just way too painful to try to do all that much with it (not to mention the fact that I tie up their phone line when I do so).

So my list of things to do for the forums when I return is:

  • Figure out why people in the "Troll" user group can still give negative reputation points (I suspect it is the mod I'm using)
  • Fix email issues resulting from improper reverse DNS lookups that are resulting in the emails sent via the buy/sell/trade site not working as they should. My sysadmin has been notified.
  • Fix the captcha image on the buy/sell/trade site to allow new user registrations
  • Fix the Smilies so we have the cool 3D animated smilies back
  • Apply the updated version of the iSkin theme so that the gallery no longer looks messed up (this happened after upgrading the Gallery and Forums software)
  • See if I can fix the "Latest Gallery Image" sidebar widget (I disabled it because it appears incompatible with the updated Forum software)
  • Figure out why image uploads for images that are larger than the limit fail; I think it is because GD is not installed on the server we moved the forums to, and have my sysadmin looking into it
  • ...anything else that appears wrong. Feel free to post if you've found any issues

This is fixed now. It was indeed just a missing GD.

I also fixed the GarTrader buy/sell/trade site -> Twitter bridge by fixing a permissions issue on the new server.

Fixed. I updated to the latest version of the theme we use for the site. Hopefully everything still works as intended.

Fixed. We're back in business here too.

This is fixed as well; new users can now register on the buy/sell/trade site, because the captcha image now appears. This was a GD issue from the server move.

Only two known issues remaining, but I'm going to have to call it a session. I'm happy I got a few important things fixed. The others will be taken care of as soon as I can.

Anybody else having trouble with the GarTrader theme now? I'm fine browsing forums but when I select a thread I loose the top and bottom sections. See image below

David T mentioned this. I wonder if it wasn't just cached or something? ie, hitting reload in your browser fixes it.

Actually I tried refreshing, logging out and back in, clearing all cookies and a few other things none of which fixed it. Not sure what ended up fixing it. This was on Firefox 3.6.

Weird. PrizePig and a few others seem to be having an issue with this as well... but I can't figure out why it works fine for some people, and not for others.

The other thing you can try doing is going to the forums index page:

http://www.gartrader.com/forums/

...and scrolling down all the way to the bottom where there is a popup menu in the bottom left called "GarTrader" and selecting the "IP.Board" for the skin to see if that works.

Yep, that's what I did, see screen shots in first post above. When I switched to the IP.Board theme things were fine. Switched back to the GarTrader theme and was still broken then later started working. Very weird indeed.

I switched back to the default IP.Board theme for now. I really don't have time to try to sort out why the custom theme isn't working for some people with certain browsers at the moment.

You should now be viewing the forums using a white/blue colored theme. If not, go to the Forum Index:

http://www.GarTrader.com/forums/

...and scroll to the bottom of the page, and choose "IP.Board" from the popup menu that is in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

Okay, I lied. I found some time, and I re-installed the custom theme, and set it to be default. The theme is called "GarTrader.com" -- let me know if it works, or if people continue to have issues with it.

Still not working. It did show up as the default just now but in order for me to reply I had to switch to the IP Board skin.

Thanks, Jim

Okay, the skin author made some changes that in theory should fix the issue. I set the default skin back to GarTrader.com -- if you've had problems in the past, and the skin isn't the light grey-ish GarTrader.com skin, please go to the Forum Index:

http://www.GarTrader.com/forums/

...and scroll all the way to the bottom there there is a popup menu in the bottom-left corner, and choose "GarTrader.com" for your theme, and tell me if anything is still broken.

All done. The AHReputation mod was causing two problems:

1) It was the source of people being unable to post replies after I upgraded the forums
2) It allowed people who shouldn't be able to post reputation points do so

So I've just disabled the AHReputation mod, and moved the Reputation listing off of every post. Out of sight, out of mind.
