Does anyone know if this was a one-time thing, or are these going to be released on a more regular basis ?? TIA !

I've got no inside info, but they sure don't appear to be anything "special" IMO, I might try one next week. And if F&N hasn't figured it out their "special limited" crap has worn out it's welcome, other than the CF koolaid drinkers. Personally I hope they've gotten the hint and a clue.

Couldn't tell you the last time I saw anyone smoking a Fuente in a shop b 4 yesterday when I happened to meet a local CF'r (who I didn't know was a local). He was smoking a BS, and the retailer was nice enough to gift me a Anejo 46. Decent cigar, no complexity and certainly not worth 10+ and sales tax.

Tell me how you really feel, but you do have a point.

I still can't find a box of the new 8-5-8's in the DC metro area/Maryland area......I found some in a very famous shop in FL...but at 15/stick....300/box they can hang onto them.

I think a majority of the Opus and rare sticks you see on Ebay are actually friggen retailers/B&M owners hawking em. Just my opinion.

To be honest the OR's never did anything for me. I know some guys fall all over themselves for these things, but to me they wre just nothing special at all. Will I try a current production example? Probably at some point just to satisfy curiousity, compare against the experiences I had with the OR's. I'll wait 'til the hype dies down and someone either bonuses me one, or nothing else jumps out at me at the B&M.
Where'd the cheddar go? I don't know!

I have smoked 2 of the new release and so far I haven't been really impressed. It is a pretty good cigar but nothing fantastic. Maybe they need age to be great, I dunno.

I'm with Joe in really liking these. I think it's a nice cigar if you find them around MSRP. I wouldn't pay $300.00 a box though.

I thought it was a pretty good cigar as well. I've never had one of the original release to compare it to however, so maybe it doesn't stack up against them.
Just hoping to catch the crumbs as they fall!

300 bucks....maybe in 5 years :) right now, they can be had close to msrp. I can tell you though this much....NOT in Minnesota (70% cigar tax!!!)

I have been looking to get a few to try, everything I have heard said they are decent but not as great as the OR.

I never liked the OR, so I doubt I would like the recent release... :thumbsd:

I didn't care for the OR either. I snagged five of these for whatever reason and we'll see if I like them any better. I expect I'll be offerring four up for trade at some point but maybe these will surprise me.

+1 on this. I tend to prefer a mellower profile tho. You can have all the ligero this and that smokes.... not for me.

I tried one and really liked it. I think they will be even better in a couple years. But then again I like milder smokes.

I LOVE mild cigars too, the problem is this is nothing more than a 858 that for some reason people decided to wet their panties over. Nothing more or less. I picked up a couple its a decent cigar for MSRP, nothing more. You want to age them, fine....my space is more valuable to me. I tried a few different sizes all I can say is at least they're reasonably priced.

And if they become "rare" cigars it will only be if Fuente decides not to release them. You can bet they could make a ton of them.

Count me in the same camp. Bought my first box at $7.50 a stick, thought enough of them to buy the next box at $8.50 a stick from a different retailer, and seriously thinking of picking up more at $9+ a stick. Not sure I'd pay over $10 a stick for them though.

Vince, you must be referring to the Magnum R's aka "Rosarios" if you tried different sizes.

I too never thought much about the OR 858 Rosados, but I did enjoy the 2009 release 858 Rosados very much.

LMAO! I read your post and was wondering what the hell it had to do with a 8-5-8 Rosado.

By the comments on this thread I think it will be a cigar I may have to pass on.

Recently sampled another of these, and they have moved from meh to enjoyable. Good $5 cigar. Hopefully a little more time will bring out some more flavor in these.
